Memory mime

Just when I thought I might be getting caught up on LJ.............

Leave one memory of you and me together. It doesn't matter if I know you a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, post this in your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.

A very clear memory, and its a favorite as it is the crystalization of the Bank of England for me. You were sitting under a small tree in the area where there is now the merry-go-round swing run by boyscouts. You were there in all of the Bank's glory, passing the time playing a penny wistle. I had walked up and we spoke briefly about life, the universe and everything, for a bit and then there was something about my costume that was out of whack. Out of a little basket or a pouch you pulled tiny little scissors and cut a thread or something from my skirts, as you explained that you always carried such things about, just in case.

I remembered feeling amazed that you were that "on it", so to speak.

And you went right back to playing the pennywistle, looking every inch like something out of history...just passing the beautiful day in sartorial pleasure.

Indeed, my friend, they were, and we drank them in, even then, like fine wine.

Drinking daquiris surrounded by SCA friends at Lillies and realizing that this is YOUR element.

I remember distinctly the feeling when you emailed me to say "So I hear you need some help building your first bodice."

I very nearly cried from relief.

I'm certainly glad you *didn't* cry! That was fun when you came over to sew :).
