Where the heck is spring?

Ok, what happened to spring? Things were all nice and green there for awhile, then we had that cold spell and whatthefuck!!!! The flowers, and the small tiny new leaves are gone from the redbuds. My dogwood, that I love to sit on the deck and look at in the sunset in spring, barely had it's flowers half-way open and now 98% are brown. A few brave petals have tried to spread open again this week. The lemon balm that had worked it's way through the winter mulch in the herb garden is now a brown weathered heap, as are many of the new leaves on the ash trees. One of the ground covers, that was several bright shades of green, has had a couple of browns to that mix. Some of the lilac blooms did survive, probably because the bush is so close to the house. I don't think my daffodils even tried to bloom, sigh.
