A couple of quiet weekends

Weekend before last dropped Himself off at faire and went up to help my mom with a little more packing, then back to faire to visit and catch a few shows before heading home again with galactusprime. Forecast had been for overcast, possibly a few drips. I took garb to change into but at the last minute decided, what the heck, I would stay in mundanes for the faire, even though it was probably the first time in about 30 years I had been out there sans garb. It was different :)! I did wear one of my hair wreaths, which Toy said made me recognizable from the neck up, but some folks I know only from faire did not 'see' me at all. Verrry different experience :).
Weather forecast turned out to be less than accurate so I was happy I wasn't in costume as there was a steady drizzle most of the afternoon. Got to see the Chess Match which was coming along nicely, a very game bunch of performers who went out and did their show in the steady drip. Some very good bits. Also went to The Smoker for the first time ever. Sat in the back and it was a nice relaxing time since I knew most of the folks putting it on. At $10, which includes two beers and a cigar, it is worth if for the quality of the entertainment alone. I can see now why it has such a loyal following. Walk out was very tricky due to the mud but I had managed to park just outside the front gate so we had a short trek. Himself does not have to stay until closing so we were home by dark, cool :).
Forecast for this last weekend was up and down so it was not until friday I thought to ask Himself if somesort of a rain hood might come in handy. Umm, Yes! was the response :). So there I was down in the sweatshop friday evening as all the tornado watches came and went, good timing to be in a basement. Managed to find some partially felted wool in the stash that should shed a light rain pretty well, had to piece the hood from two different fabrics but I think it works for his watchman character. He said it was a bit warm on saturday but worked. Personally I worry more about wet plus cold so it should be fine for that type of weather.
Last weekend was waaaay laid back, Housemate took me to Sam's for some stocking up on sunday, saturday was puttering around getting odds and ends done around the house. Made soup for sunday dinner. Couple of things I really need to get done before the trip east but the weather said "nap", so I did :).
