The Tudors: Update
Apr. 13th, 2007 12:39 pmThree more chances to catch "The Tudors: Royal Stylemakers" on Style Network:
Friday, April 13th @ 8:00pm ET/PT
Saturday, April 14th @ 8:00am ET/PT
Sunday, April 15th @ 7:00pm ET/PT
Caught the first run last night and enjoyed it, lots of pics of costumes reenactors had sent in and all given credit at the end, plus a thank you to the yahoo groups that contributed.
All in all I enjoyed it. It was not a piece about period costuming but seemed to respect the roots of Tudor fashion and give them a lot of credit for many styles today. And of course, they plugged the show.
I did LOL when the costume designer was talking about the costumes in the masque. They were inspired by the Degas painting of dancers and yes, she knew they were not historically accurate so please do not send postcards :).
And it was just announced that a second season of the series has been ordered. This will cover the 3 years of Henry & Anne's marriage, her beheading of course, but also Thomas More's execution and Cromwell's rise. They hope to film sometime this year and be able to air it next year.
I taped it if anyone misses it completely :).
