Weekly Update

grnvixenMaybe I can get into the habit of posting on fridays and mondays? Worth a try :).
So my mother-in-law is a freak of nature. No, this is not an unhappy daughter-in-law speaking. I like my MiL and I think we get along pretty well. The above judgement was actually handed down from her doctor. She has been having fever spikes and just plain not feeling well for over 3 weeks. They have been running tests and at one point thought it might have been a type of hepatitus. This week they decided it was Mono. Yup, the old kissing diesease :). Which according to her doctor you are not supposed to be able to get after about age 35. Hence the freak of nature bit :) :) :). Hopefully noone else in the family has been exposed (lots of grandkids) but I know it is going to be hard for her to take it easy until this is really cured.
This week was pretty quiet. Second full week back and work and mobility continues to improve. If I concentrate, I can manage to walk for a few steps w/out the drunken sailor roll :). Stairs are better but still a problem. Will check in with Rehab week after next to be sure I am doing everything right.
I missed swimming on wednesday as I think I am coming down with a cold. I was so careful the first few days I was back at work to use one of those hand sanitizers, everyone around me seemed to be snuffling and sneezing. Turns out at least 2 of the snufflers had walking pneumonia! I thought I was doing allright but felt the start of something on wednesday. Now I am dosing myself w/ EmergenC and echinacia tea, plus giving that ZiaCam stuff a try. So far so good but stay tuned.
Next week should be a lot livelier, angelbedwell is back :)!
