Belated weekend report
Mar. 15th, 2005 08:41 amSo much for trying to post on monday!
Weekend was good, made it to the Gem & Mineral show and stayed, standing and walking, a lot longer than I had intended. March is the big show and last year I made it, but only with the help of a wheel chair. After spending over an hour in the wholesale area I had no energy to stroll through the public displays but it felt so good to manage what I did this year on my own 2 feet. Apparently dyed pearls are getting popular again and I scored some really pretty strands to try out on some costume embellishment. Ran into Radcliffe at one of the dealers with the best selection. Gee, can't imagine why :). Saw some other folks I had not seen for awhile so I was really glad I made it. Spent a bit to much on some pieces of jadeite I'm still not sure exactly what to do with but hey, they were a great green!
All that walking left me stiff for the rest of saturday so I did one of the sitting down projects on my list; cleaning and sorting out the drawers and closet in the bathroom. Through away a large sack of just old junk and then mamaged to get a start on spring cleaning the BR.
Sunday I made it to the Y and tackled some more sorting & cleaning. Progress is slower than I would like, especially since we will have overnight company weekend after next. I *really* want to get downstairs to tackle the sweat shop but it is still just a bit chilly for that (stone basement), even with the space heaters.
And I think I managed to avoid the cold I felt starting last week. A little nagging stuffiness but that I can deal with. Hurrah!
