KCRF and catching up
Sep. 22nd, 2008 01:09 pmFinally had my first whole day out at faire on sunday. I have, and have not, been missing it. Long ramble behind cut
Weather was absolutely glorious! A tad warmer than I like it anymore (I'm a woose on heat now adays) but humidity was low and the afternoon saw a bit of a breeze so, all in all, survivable. Saw a ton of folks, sure a missed a lot too. Some highlights:
Almost the first person I saw was
retdet who most graciously, and as promised, had the check for me for the banner. So nice to work with someone who remembers and honors their promises. It has been a pleasure to have had my small part in the development of The Yeoman. Wish we had more living history groups like them.
Got to morning meeting a tad late but I don't think I missed to much. Was there in time for the good news that they want to have the cast party back on site, and during faire. A little confusing though as one of the stated reasons was that this years cast was doing such a good job. So previous casts were bad??? My impression from what was said at the meeting was that it was still to be determined if this was a go or not and would depend on the willingness of folks to pitch in and volunteer for all the work that goes into the party. JS needed to see email from volunteers before a meeting this week. More confusion when I later see a crafters bulletin, that went out *last* weekend, announcing the party as a sure thing and requesting help to put it on. Another bulletin that went out yesterday also spoke of the party as a firm thing, and solicited donations from crafters for a RESCU silent auction that will be held at the same time. Cool about the auction! Hope that word gets spread around more.
Fun to work the shop again. Got to joke around with some of the patrons. One guy was perfectly willing to get into tights but his girlfriend was honest enough to realize that if someone made a pass at him in them, she would deck them. And she could probably have done it too! I guess better to be upfront about something like that. Good thing I'm pretty mellow about that, what with himself spending so much time around the members of the brothel this year :) :) :).
Was a little slow getting going in the morning (see below) but took it slow and got around pretty well. Was pretty beat by the end of the day however so I took every opportunity to pass out dog treats to the puppies on my way up to meet with
galactusprime.
and prepping for visit to Plymouth this weekend. Not in the shape I had wanted to be for this, partially because of a nasty medical situation last week that was NOT helped by a possible allergic reaction. After a frustrating day of trying to talk to anyone in Family Practice I finally emailed my PC Doc. She is Awesome! Called me back in less than an hour for a phone consult and called in the script herself, asked me to keep her updated. A sedentary few days set me back some on the progess I had been making with the lumbar issues however. Trying to catch-up a little this week but don't want to push it. Step by step.

Date: 2008-09-22 09:05 pm (UTC)It is interesting at how much miscommunication and poor communication seems to taint and change things every year. And every time I see JS he looks even less happy than the year before. For all the slack he is given, I wonder how much would cease to exist if he did end up gone for whatever reason.
