Had another mellow weekend. Himself was down in OK with the Heartland Faire so I was planning on pretty much staying home and getting more work done when a chance encounter reminded me about The British Faire, sponsored by the local Daughters of the British Empire. I went to one of these many many years ago and it was fun so I contaced my Pilmoth travel buddy, DP to see if she was available as I knew this would be up her alley. Very last minute but she was, so we went :)!. We had had some thought about taking in their High Tea but that line was very long when we got there so we meandered instead. It's a fun little event, a bagpiper and harpist providing backgound music (well, as much in the 'background' as a piper can be :)). And then lots of tables/booths selling British themed goods. There were a couple of vendors with some *very* nice wool products that would have been tempting if I had had more $$$. Several tables had bake sale type items of typical British faire so I picked up a couple of mini-mini mince pies and lemon custards for lunch. Mmmmm good. Some of the tables were crafty, some seemed to have donated used (but excellent condition) items and DP found two really nice raised cake plates she could not live without. We both found books at the book corner and were repeatedly tempted by the evil Cadbury. Saw

dwimmerlake very briefly on our way out and also reconnected with an old friend I had not seen in years. Used to do renfair and the KC cons with her. She is now very active with the DoBE. Almost forgot, some of the KCRF court made an appearance too.

Spent the rest of the very cold weekend doing laundry and cleaning, sorting, and then filing a ton of general schtuff. Boring, but it is done now. Himself got home very late sunday night, or should I say early monday morning. He zonked out so deeply he didn't even hear the cat who ralphed a hairball at his feet in the middle of the night :).

At work today but off tomorrow, planning on making a major raid at JoAnn's since they are having a sale, I have coupons, and a gift card!!!
