Despite the dreary weather here on friday and saturday, I had a really awesome weekend. A bunch of us historic stitchers brought in a very special teacher for a class in a medieval gold technique called Or Nue. She brought all the supplies for us to practice with, plus enough for a small project after the class (think gold and silk!). The class included slides that she and her business partner had taken of examples in the V&A museum in London. They took these pictures just for this class with a very high res so that with photoshop we could zoom right in and see close-up detail of the stitches. Awesome! And these were surviving examples that are not available to study in any books that I have been able to find. Double Awesome! Most of the class ended up back at our place saturday night for a general stitching/fiber/history farble. My brain was on overload with ideas on sunday! This was the second time we have brought this teacher in for a private class and I think we will keep doing it about once a year. She is a great teacher who has so much to share and is so generous with her knowledge.

And on my continuing rehab; saw the rehab doc last week and checked in with PT today. General opinion is that I have been doing very well on my own (both seemed a little surprised that I had not been sent to rehab or PT immediately following my return to walking) and I have some new exercises to work out the remaining deep-muscles and help strengthen the left side which is still weak, not surprising :). I've been doing so well on my own PT is going to trust me to keep on that way and just check in with them for a couple of weeks. Which means, hopefully, I am pretty much through with medical appts for this!
