The Holiday Weekend
Dec. 28th, 2008 03:16 pmIs way to short. Haven't gotten done nearly as much as I wanted to, but then I did have lots of time with family and friends, and just chilling.
Wednesday evening was potluck with the in-laws, thursday AM was at home with Himself and JP. Late lunch was with my side of the family where ham was consumed (except by the vegetarians of course :) ). On Friday JP did an absolutely marvelous standing rib with yorkshire pudding. She made little individual YPs in a muffin tin, I promptly dubbed them 'yorkies' :). Tonight is brisket and cheesy grits. Yeah, we've eaten our way pretty well through the holidays :).
Some fine gifts were given and received, some were actually surprises too :). I haven't hit any of the post-holiday sales altho we did make a field trip to a couple of thrift stores we don't usually get to and found a couple of deals.
Back to work for three days starting tomorrow but it should be pretty slow. I'm counting on that for getting a project or two done with few interruptions. No big plans for the next weekend. We haven't really been big party goers the last couple of years. Call us old :).

Date: 2008-12-29 07:32 pm (UTC)Believe it or not, the Scotsman and I are going to a New Year's Eve party for the first time in, oh I don't know, 15 years or so!
Guess we're not as old as we thought we were!
