Putter, putter....
Jan. 7th, 2009 08:40 amPretty much what I did last weekend, and it was niiiiccccee. I really like it when the holidays fall before the weekend, much more downtime :).
New Year's Day was the usual; take down the decorations while watching the Rose Bowl Parade. We usually watch it on HGTV because they used to have the best coverage, ie; minimal ads, lots of info on the materials and building of the floats, actual screentime for all the entries, with good camera coverage but this year, not so much. It was great weather though so still some beautiful color. Oh yeah, and fly-over by a stealth bomber....
Spent the rest of the long weekend puttering. Probably should have taken advantage of the warmish weather to get somethings done down in the icebox that is the sweatshop at this time of year, but the puttering was way way more relaxing :). Did get a few things on the unofficial 'list' done but also played around with a couple of stitching projects that are in the works. Finished up on monday with getting all the new examples of coifs and nightcaps logged into the commons books. Also finally have the pattern for the BW coif about 90% finalized. That journey will be another post of it's own on the pattern analysis that went into it.
About the only disappointment was the brisket I cooked on the final sunday. Tried the long and slow but it didn't work. I sooo wanted it to fall apart. Still not sure what I'm doing wrong, or right. Back to the internet and may try another one over the MLK weekend. Perfect or not, I don't have to twist Himself's arm to eat it :).
