Back among the living

Took the better part of last week to shake the worst of whatever this headcold schtuff was but, I think the worst is gone. I'm still coughing a bit, naggy bits, but not trying to donate a lung :). This time last week I was also celebrating St. Patty's day a bit early everytime I blew my nose. Nice bright green! Yeah, oversharing :).
Cut for a longish update
I finally got back to the Y to swim yesterday am. I resigned back up the end of January and had been going at least twice a week to swim until the head cold hit. Swimming is one of the few forms of exercise I actually look forward too, not surprising given I am a double-water sign :). I had dropped my membership a couple of years ago because they kept messing with the pool schedule but there is a new aquatics director and a more dependable schedule is the new policy. Yipee!
Energy was still low last week so the grand plans for spring cleaning were slowed down a bit. Sorted out the embroidery books with the first bit of energy I found, then tackled the beading supplies. This is a little more involved than it may sound as I have beading supplies for costume, embroidery, lace and jewelry making. Sorted and consolidated so I know where everything is now but it took several evenings. This weekend was the costume closet (well, one of them, but it is the largest :) ) and a start on the needlework supplies. Have a large pile of garb that will be wending it's way to new homes, and actually through away a couple of pieces. Very hard to part with things I've made over the years.
We started celebrating St Pat's day a bit early. This is our annual excuse to eat corned beef but previous cooking of said CB using a crockpot were less than successful. Last year, since it was over a weekend, I went the stovetop route and the CB was muuuuch improved so, yesterday, I cooked two :). We have a very nice dinner last night with the CB, potatos, asparagus, soda bread and strawberries. Leftovers will be reheated for dinner tomorrow. So nice not to have to cook all that after a long day a work.
