grnvixenAs in, I haz one. Yes, I said one. Way to much information about my feet behind the cut... I've been trying to do more walking, and having trouble with the feet. Had some ups and downs as I got active again after the hip surgery so it has been slow, very slow. I love Crocs, they have been great for a lot of wear, but not so good for trying to walk for exercise, or even trying to up the steps here at work on the cement.
Soooo, saturday I headed to Comfort Plus to talk to some experts. They measured my feet, watched me walk, and did some sort of a pressure image with each foot. Not surprising, but it's now official, the left leg is shorter than the right one. They said this would probably happen with the THR but I had not thought it enough to be noticeable. Well, my feet have been noticing and it caused a real problem with one type of shoe I tried on, not so bad on another. Putting in a lift fixed it however. Yes, I now have a lift in one of my shoes. My LJ friends who know me a bit more up-close-and-personal are probably getting a chuckle about this as about the last thing you would think looking at me is that I would have lifts in my shoes since, thanks to my viking ancestors, I have a bit of height.
Thanks to those viking ancestors I have a nice big bone frame too and pretty big feet. Finding shoes that fit right have always been a problem and even more so now as the left foot, which had always been juuuust a bit bigger than the right, is now a whole size bigger!!!! There are also arthritic issues, not helped by the way I was walking because of the length difference but we were able to find a good walking shoe and I have been wearing them for short streatchs over the weekend to break them in. No foot pain in these shoes, which is good. A few aches in the legs as I'm using muscles that have not been used for awhile but so far so good. Now to just keep walking....
Rest of the weekend was slow. Spent a lot of it working on a pattern I wanted to have ready for Lilies. Tried to find a new office chair at several places, includeing NFM with no luck. Made a quick raid on Sam's club for some staples (drat, forgot TP) and that was about it. Yawn.....
