A New Year

Back at work today so web access a little easier. Got a lot easier at home though as the geek-on-call BiL upgraded our PC w/ Windows XP. Boy are things running a lot faster! Probably helped that in preparation for this we cleaned a lot of things off the HD :). We are now looking into a memory stick to use for archiving a few things. It has been recommended over a writeable CD since we hope to upgrade the whole system in a couple of years.

NYE was very quiet, we had lasagna and watched 2 movies (Serenity & Sky High) while I worked on a hat for the show. NYD was the annual trip to MiL's for black eyed peas, prefaced this year with a quick drop-by for gumbo at the home of one of the Fortinbras crew. They have 3 cats so I was happy :).

Meant to do more of a push on costume stuff for the show but started coming down with something late Sunday and it is full-blown today. I suspect a sinus infection but am hitting the Zicam just in case it can help. Also the echinacea tea & Emergen-C, always on my list for this sort of thing. Meanwhile I am feeling all wonky and just plain miseravle. I should have known something like this would happen just when I needed to *not* be sick!!! grumblegrumblegrumble.........
