Buttertarts!
Feb. 9th, 2007 10:12 amThanks to
bernina2000de and some non-LJ frieds I was delivered a box of home-made buttertarts last night. I was also told I could ignore the note on the box: "eat these and die!" as it was meant to keep others out of said box :).
Mmmmm, buttertarts! A wonderful treat of thin pastry shell formed in a cup (muffin tin size!) half full of a buttery filling similar to pecan pie w/out the nuts, brown sugary crust on top. This is
bernina2000de's secret family recipe from Nova Scotia that she has generously shared with a few yanks down this way. I, in turn, brought a few in to share with appreciative folks here at work. Still have a couple stashed for morning coffee tomorrow :).
Thanks
