It's official; we have Robins in our backyard! Actually, I saw some last week in a friend's next-door-neighbors yard so I knew they should be showing up soon. For my own personal weather almanac, the arrival of the Robin means the long cold spells of winter are over. There may be occasional storms but usually only one winter storm (March Surprises aside) and the temps rarely go below freezing and if they do, it is only a day or too. This has held true all the years I can remember, including the year I saw a Robin on January 2nd! Woo Hoo, spring will be here soon!

And then there is the 'No' word. I had been doing so well, but then was asked to help out on costuming another show. It is for the KC Women's Playwight Festival, link here, which will be at JOB. Opening night is March 16 and it runs for 3 weekends. Matinees on Sundays and half-price admission on the two monday nights (Mar 19 & 26) with theatre resume or headshots.

I think I got pulled into this mainly for the Ophelia's Hamlet piece, which they are doing in (mostly) appropriate costumeing, but also ended up figuring out how to do the stuffed heads and a few other minor tweaks. There are some really good pieces in this show so if you get a chance, give it a look.

I can't offer to help you with the sewing, but how about if I brought you dinner one night to relieve you of that time-consuming chore?

Thanks for the offer, always love your cooking. Things went really well at rehearsal last night so I think the crunch just eased. I'll look forward to soup at faire :).

I heard a robin this morning - does that count? Didn't see him though; it was up in the tree as I was getting into the truck to head for school...
