Got a lot accomplished, altho not everything I had originally planned. Cut for length

Friday night was Opening night for the KC Women's Playwright Festival. First however I had to swing by The Barn to borrow (well, first, find) a pair of tights, then catch up a little with T. Called D to meet me at Firestone after I dropped off the Rodeo to get some regular maintence done. Grabbed some dinner, then off to JOB for the show. Whew. Several of the playwrights were in attendance and the producers had flowers for everyone. There was a really good energy for opening night and despite a few small glitches it went well. Nice to see all the pieces together at one time.

Saturday was up early thanks to the cat-who-thinks-he-is-a-snooze-alarm, and waited for the call to pickup the Rodeo. No call, and we needed to swing by the vets to pickup something by noon (said cat is getting his teeth cleaned this week :) ). Hmmm, call and they had been sent the wrong kit and had to wait for the correct one. OK, so D and I head out on some of the errands we were going to do after the pickup. Pickup the Rodeo and I head to JoAnns. Well, it was right across the street and I had coupons burning a hole in my pocket! Actually found a couple of good deals on a remnant and brocade so meant to happen. We had taped the parade so did a quick FF to check out Madame and the wenches on the KCRF float, then grabbed a short nap before heading to Olathe for D's family get-together. Which means a ton-o-people in one house. Fortunately the sun had come out by then so the kids could play in the back yard. Home and crashed.

Sunday was up again and started puttering around with some spring sorting/cleaning. I actually started some of this last weekend, altho I still haven't unearthed the dining room table :). Weather was warmer than saturday so it was nice to have the windows open some. Had a call in the afternoon and a friend who does home inspections and odd repairs was able to come by at the last minute to check on a repair we were hoping he could do, and take a look at the foundation for a possible recommendation to stabilize it. Boy does J know his stuff! He got the grand tour and says we are really in pretty good shape (we have walnut kitchen cabinets, who knew!), made some very usefull suggestions for addressing some of the foundation issues ourselves, cleaned the gutters, and would only let me feed him dinner (corned beef, cabbage, carrots and potatoes that had been simmering in the crockpot all day). He is going to come back later and repair a big plaster crack we have and redo the steps to the back deck. THAT he is darn well going to let us pay him for!

More cleaning, sorting and sewing this week!

And since spring officially arrives this week I think I found a new appropriate icon :).

since spring officially arrives this week

Need some spring fabric?

I picked up some possible bodice fabric for Notty, but it's too pastel for her. It's a very light green background with white floral brocade weave, spaced at about 10" repeat. Are you interested in taking a look before I return it to Hancock's? It was cheap...$4/yard or something like that, and there's a lot--almost 6 yards.

Err...6 yards for Notty's bodice? *wink* Please tell me you had other plans for the material, too! (hee!) Sounds pretty, though!

It's so difficult to find green upholstery fabric that I buy enough for at least two bodices, if I can! Six yards will make three bodices (and peplums), if I cut carefully.

*nods* Agreed. Green's one of the colors that looks best on me, too, and I try really hard not to duplicate Notty's colors (though with me not being one of Red's girls, it shouldn't matter, but it's the friendship principle that keeps me from doing it.) This weekend I bought a new (non-fest) hat that's Notty's shade of green and I had almost a guilty feeling when getting it, because it should belong to her 'cause of the color, heh.

Well, if you have any interest in some pastel brocade, I've got some for cheap! LOL!

Alas, I just dropped $200 on a linen order, so I'm tapped out on fabric funds for awhile. :) Thanks, though!

I claim no shades of green and I have worn them all! DO NOT LIMIT YOURSELF in your choices for my sake ANY MORE! oh and look at the fabric Lydia has if you're interested, it's pretty and would look great on you!

That is a darn good price but I don't do so well in pastel's either. Thanks for the offer though.
