I survived!
May. 29th, 2007 03:11 pmI survived a weekend of eating soft food and entertaining my in-laws.
Amoxicillin is kicking in but that tooth/side is still sore so I'm not chewing much on it. Fortunately the inner gum is doing better so I at least *can* chew some things, I was getting tired of macncheese and egg drop soup.
Saturday I actually got out to visit a little at the event up in Smithville. Beautiful weather (apparently I missed the rain :) ). Sunday was puttering to get odd jobs done and prepping for MONDAY. This is the annual Kinsey Volleyball and hotdog carbonization event. Normally Himself does the V-Ball and I get to play with fire, eerrrrr, carbonize but since he was in Muskogee one of his brothers filled in (Thanks Rat!). Sweated the weather forecast (we've only had to cancel once for weather) but decided to go for it. Had one nephew prepped to help entertain the youngest, should we have to move indoors due to rain, but except for one brief shower the weather was near perfect; good temp, light breeze to take care of bugs and humidity, partly cloudy so no sunburn. Just about everyone was able to make it, includling the neighbor with her almostfouryearold and a good friend with her new boyfriend. Rat had brought games to help entertain the youngest and horseshoes was added to the usual fare of V-ball and later wiffle ball.
The nieces are old enough now to bring along boyfriends and the one that made it this year turned out to be a music student at EState, a lyric Baritone no less! He also likes renfairs so niece gave him the nickel tour of the house and despite viewing the toy room I think his favorite part was the swords and costumes.
Rat and son stayed to help put things away, as did another BiL but I don't mind admitting that I was exhausted by the end of the day and sacked our pretty early. I was aware when Himself made it home but I don't think I was able to mutter anything coherent. He was sacked out pretty solid when I came into work today. Tonight I'm going to be lazy and laid back, then it is time to start packing for LW!
