Oh Crap! It's October????
Oct. 12th, 2007 12:44 pmWhere the heck has the time gone?!? I know that usually happens this time of year, what with two months of faire weekends, but I'm not out there every day so you think I would still be able to keep up. Shift in timing of some of my job responsibilites hasn't helped so that is probably part of it.
Some notes for myself to try and catch up a bit July was pretty productive, got several projects with deadlines done, and was reminded of a saluatory lesson in fabric useage. You can't use everything and sometimes you just have to say Chuck It! Yeah, I tried to use some fabric that had been lying around for awhile for a test kirtle for a friend and ran into problem after problem. It did eventually become a wearable garment but, sigh, next time..... August saw more projects completed, including a couple of last-minute ones. One inparticular, while it was a real crunch, was still a lot of fun and I enjoy seeing it out at faire. September was puttering around and a lot of research for a new blackwork embroidery project. I definately need more magnification before I start it however, the eyes are just getting to old for the really small stitch counts. Also had a little time to get back into bobbin lace, inspired by the jacket project at The Plimoth Plantation. Hopefully more on that later.
KCRF this year has been very up and down, especially the weather. What the heck happened to fall?!?!?! The later weekends are always my favorite at faire; weather becoming cool and crisp, leaves turning and starting to fall, but it has felt like August. Blech! Working at T's is always fun though, man there are some pretty men that go through there :). Get to see a little more of the whores since they have to hang out in that general area more this year. I got to come out one day to play and visit, hope to get some more of that in this saturday, then to T's on sunday. I probably won't be walking much by then. And I'm taking monday off, two old to pull a long weekend anymore and that 7 pm cannon makes for a long day with little time to visit afterwards when you need to get home and get up early the next day.
