The above baby coifs, nicely modeled by two of my plush foxes :), are for a couple of our friends in the SCA who just had babies. I got the idea when the first friend was pregnant. They are currently stationed in England (which is good, no more sandbox tours for awhile) and this is their first child. Then another friend in WV also shared the good news of their upcoming second bundle of joy. Now both of these ladies are known in our camping group as 'Barbie' and 'Midge' because of how often they tend to change their outfits every day, even while camping. Add the fact that they are some of our oldest friends in SCA, I wanted to do something spiffy. I know, I'll embroider 'little' baby hats, won't take to long, right....
The first thing was to try and decide on an embroidery pattern. Why does this always take longer than the actual stitching? Decided on peapods for both and got the pattern drawn out. Hmmmm, how big are baby's heads? More research.... Did I mention I had wanted to have these done in December, or at the latest January :)? And Then, both of the darling little boys came EARLY!!!! Oh well, at least that took the pressure off to have them in the mail before the arrivals :).
They are done now and hopefully will get in the mail this weekend. I just hope they still fit!
FYI: this post is locked to try and keep them from accidentally stumbling on the pics until I can get these mailed. I trust noone here will spring the surprise :).
