Apr. 8th, 2005 02:01 pmMeant to post earlier this week but it has been a bit hectic, I was majorly depressed over the election, not to mention still adjusting to daylight savings time.
I'm getting old and know I can't get by on as little sleep as I used to, so I was all ready to hit the sack early on sunday so as not to get to off-kilter. Then I had to take one of the cats to the emergency vet at 10 pm! The other cat is the one we have been hauling back and forth to the vet for several weeks now with a chronic sinus infection. Then the healthy one gets listless, doesn't want dinner, and starts breathing in pants. Check of his temp: 104.7. Now up to 102.5 can be normal for cats but with everthing else going on, that was it, loaded him up and went to the emergency vet. 3 hours later, x-ray shows everything fine except a little congestion in one lung, heart sounds good and we go home with an antiobiotic. He was greatly improved the next morning but still took a day before he was back to his old self. Fortunately, this is the easy one to give medication to, since he gets it twice a day. I now get to haul both of them into the vet on saturday for check-ups. Looks like the sinus infection is finally cleared up in the older one so this should be the last trip, at least for awhile :).
The rest of this got a little long so, cut for length: Productive week at home, got the sweatshop set back up on saturday and did a quick tunic for someone monday night. Could NOT find a little book of instructions for someone on tuesday night so on wednesday I started re-organizing the quick sort I did on the pile-o-stuff in the living room. Still no little book but I found a couple of other things I had been missing :). Finished the taxes last night (WHY does Kansas NOT take out enough taxes @#$%!!!). I also need to find the time to go through all the research material I have been accumulating the last couple of months (blackwork, Elizabethan chemises, medieval stitching techniques, or nue, to name a few). The net is a very dangerous place!
Got my hair cut last night. I'm loosing my regular stylist to a move out-of-town so I had been on the lookout for someone new. My hair is harder to get a good cut on than it may look. It's a little shorter right now than I would have liked but the heavy 'blinders' on either side of my face are out of the way so I can see again! I'll give it a week or two and see how it grows in.
Good weekend with friends to look forward to. If I survive the trip to the vets, I'm joining some friends up at Smithville lake to do some brush clean-up on a site we camp at in June. Ok, I'm still not up to a lot of heavy physical work so I will be bringing lunch :). Saturday night is gaming with friends, which means a lazy sunday morning. Maybe sunday afternoon I can tackle that research material......
