Long weekend/short week
Sep. 11th, 2009 02:17 pmI really like that combination but the weekend is never long enough and this is always a bad week to be short. Summary behind cut.... Thanks to Her Wonderful Majesty, Himself and I got to be a part of a pelican ambush, despite not being able to make the Valor event last weekend. I sat down and seriously considered day tripping it on saturday but I'm just to old for that, and Valor is just a little outside of the time zone for that. Himself wrote the letter so we could beg the boon by proxy. Got it over to Y's on thursday for transport to the event. Somehow Her Maj managed to get the victim, errrr candidate, to bring the letter into court himself. We Got Him :)! Altho apparently I am now a dead woman :) :) :). Long over due tho. Sorry we had to miss it but I really appreciate TRM's still working a way to let us be a prt of it.
Saturday was errands with a trip to the farmer's market for bread and melon, sidelined briefly by a stop at a couple of garage sales. At one of these I scored a really cool basket, one of those largish ones (campbox size) with handles and lid. Still had the lid altho I will need to reattach it. At the same garage sale I notice some loose Legos in one of the large tubs-o-toys that had been put out. Asked the price, and then if I could dig them out. Over 20 mintues and two tubs later I had a couple plastic shopping bags full of Legos and small misc toys that had gotten to tedious to sort out. The price was a *steal*! Now Himself just has to finish sorting and assimilating with the rest of his stash.
Sunday was out to faire and working at T'gs. I can't remember an opening weekend where the weather was this nice. I think it rained a bit saturday morning but that just kept the dust down :). Mornings were cool and the highs were, maybe, in the low 80's by the end of the day. What a difference from the 110 degree openers. Lots of folks out and we stayed pretty busy but in talking with some other merchants business seems to be down for just about everyone. Didn't make it to a show but got restocked up on inscense sticks (I was almost out) and found some green pottery horns :).
Monday started with coffee on the deck in very foggy weather. Very unsual for this time of the year, but cool :). Next was piddling around with projects with reality shows on the tele in the background. Oh man, these are just like trainwrecks and soooo easy to get sucked into. Do these people realize how they are coming across?
No faire this weekend, unless I decide to go out sunday just to visit. Have a stitching class on saturday tho that I am looking forward to.
Need to get my priority list put together for the next couple of weeks. Have one deadline to shoot for next weekend but the others are, unfortunately, flexible. Don't give me flexible, it's is to easy for me to get distracted............ooooo shiney!
